Wifi without encryption ok. WEP ok. WPA has some troubles (and you can’t configure it with graphical tools). You can see in the /var/log/syslog some messages like “TKIP : replay detected” and the connection is increadibly slow sometimes.
I recently tried with the new driver iwl3945 : it’s really better, although not perfect. It’s in Mandriva 2008.0.
pacman -S ipw3945 ipw3945d and add ipw3945 in module and ipw3945d in daemon (rc.conf)
works with proprietary drivera big bad blob in the kernel, uh ?some disconnections… but works…
The Wireless card is using the ipw3945 module
driver not include with the distribution. Download & Rebuild is ok.
Binary blob with mandriva 2007.1 with userspace deamon running as root, not that stable : many disconnections when doing a scp through LAN.Using WPA-PSK connected to Linksys WRT54G router.
Could not (yet) make it work with iw3945 driver.
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG non compatible
WPA is more stable than with 2007 Spring : no more disconnect
need to install drivers from dag’s repository
WPA is more stable than with 2007 Spring : no more disconnect.
Do not use
Works, but sometimes disconnects.
Proprietary firmware required
Just a driver issue, but the LED is not working.
I had to install propriatary drivers
kernel 184.108.40.206 needs to be patched with intel’s driver
I switched from driver iwl3945 to ipw3945 which is more stable : read the release notes.
With latest updated packages, wifi works out of the box with iwl3945 driver
