Working PCI wireless cards on Mandriva Linux 2007.1 i586 (kernel: 2.6.21.5-tmb-desktop-1mdvsmp) by yoho (5):

Wifi without encryption ok. WEP ok. WPA has some troubles (and you can’t configure it with graphical tools). You can see in the /var/log/syslog some messages like “TKIP : replay detected” and the connection is increadibly slow sometimes.

I recently tried with the new driver iwl3945 : it’s really better, although not perfect. It’s in Mandriva 2008.0.

pacman -S ipw3945 ipw3945d and add ipw3945 in module and ipw3945d in daemon (rc.conf)

Binary blob with mandriva 2007.1 with userspace deamon running as root, not that stable : many disconnections when doing a scp through LAN.
Using WPA-PSK connected to Linksys WRT54G router.

Could not (yet) make it work with iw3945 driver.
