By default, available reolutions are 640×480, 800×600, 1024×768. The only refresh rate available is 60 Hz.

If you want a higher resolution, type the following in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install 915resolution
sudo 915resolution 5c 1920 1200
sudo 915resolution 50 1920 1200

And then reboot. (Thanks to Mattia Bulgarelli for this great trick ! )

3D works quite well, at least enough to play TuxRacer or run 3D screensavers, but I am not sure the hardware is used to its full potential. Desktop effects (Compiz, AIGLX, XGL) work but disturb movies.
