There are drivers in the work. I’ve tried a small software that could display my fingerprint on screen… But it did not do fingerprint recognition.
I’m not using any GUI or complete software suite using it because I don’t know any or haven’t bothered testing.
For anyone interested, you can use the sensor as a footprint scanner (you get your fingerprint as an image), but all the code needed for authentication and recognition is missing. See http://www.ag-networking.com/
With fprint.
no working driver for now. one is under early stage developpment
The pam_fprint module is being developed to support fingerprint readers. At the moment it works unreliably on the console login.
Would like to know a working driver / application !
I couldn’t find a driver…
works with libfprint
Not really existing interesting application
I’ve never really seen that as a necessary function to have.
Although it’s detected by the system and the software seems to work, it fails to identify my fingerprints.
but it can’t really be used for authentification (no good software to use it)
finreader
works with libfprint and pam_fprint.
Detected but not really supported. Though all libraries and programs seems to be there, i’m not correctly identified through my fingerprints. The distro lacks integration of the programs.
have not tested
