Working USB mass storages on Ubuntu 6.06 i386 (kernel: 2.6.15-53-686) by sage_b1 (5):
the procedure for getting the USB 1.1 port on the e-pc to see it consists of plugging in the power, plugging in the usb cable into the input port, and THEN plugging in memory cards (only tried SD cards because the CF card pins are bent) and peripheral USB devices such as the external HD.
have not tried Sony memory card yet, but expect it to work.
unfortunately, Linux cannot ID the SD cards like it can the HD apart from the fact that it can distinguish photocards from SD cards used mainly to store data due probably due to a FSTAB entry (?), or not.
