Working video cards in 3D on Ubuntu 7.10 i386 (kernel: 2.6.22-14-generic) by alphan (3):

I just clicked “Enable” at “Restricted Drivers Manager” to enable 3D functions after fresh install of Ubuntu 7.10. But after the restart, I couldn’t see the xwindow system because of the screen refresh rate problem. So, I hit to CTRL+ALT+F1 and type “sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg” command and selected some supported resolution. Problem fixed.
