Working printers on Gentoo Gentoo Base System release 1.12.10 AuthenticAMD (kernel: 2.6.22-sabayon) by pyr02k1 (5):

No issues with this at all. The system is not Gentoo Base, it is actually Sabayon 3.4e. With Sabayon, you run the HP printers program and it will detect the printer and scanner feature, print a test page and work without question.

Working printers on Ubuntu 8.04 i386 (kernel: 2.6.24-21-generic) by itricker (5):

Printer detected and works very well.
Scanner works in xsane image scanner – except the one-touch scan button on the printer panel doesn’t do anything under Linux.
