Huawei E220 HSDPA 3G USB modem.
Had to configure wvdial. Seems that in Ubuntu 7.04, the storage part is already blacklisted. Only installs all ttyUSB* when Ubuntu boots, and only if modem already connected to USB port from power on. Haven’t tried to create ttyUSB* manually yet.
This is NOT Mass Storage (bug interprets this 3g Modem as Mass Storage at first).
Works with Vodafones Mobile Device Driver Application: https://forge.vodafonebetavine.net/projects/vodafonemobilec/
Great howto here: http://www.howtoforge.com/vodafone_mobile_connect_card_driver_linux
Note: This is an attached USB peripheral
