Works, but…
Most kernels see drives connected to the Sil 680 as coming before the drives connected to the controllers on the motherboard.
If your kernel uses the new IDE library, there doesn’t appear to be anything you can do about that. With older Red Hat or Fedora kernels, you can use the ide=reverse boot parm. Not all distros ever supported this boot parm.
