Working sound cards on Mandriva Linux 2008.0 i586 (kernel: 2.6.22.12-desktop-1mdv) by pcpa (5):

Cheap hardware. Doesn’t work correctly with 3d sound and under Windows cannot be used to play games and/or watch movies as driver seens buggy and after a “noisy” sound, sound stops working and usually needs to restart application. And so far, no driver updates from hardware vendor. No problems using it in Linux (i.e. sound quality same as under windows, but doesn’t stop working randomly).
