Well, output works… Don’t bet on using the microphone. While something gets recorded, it’s mostly scratchy noise, and I’ve seen similar reports from many different software setups/distros. If you try to look for support or explanations, you’ll get flamed for not spending many hours/days scouring message boards for the right place to either find answers or ask them. If you’re looking to really expend the multimedia capabilities of the laptop, format the hard drive to NTFS (wipe out that Vista junk that came pre-installed), purchase Windows XP x64 from some obscure corner of the universe, and install it, OR learn to code and fix the drivers yourself.
