Working sound cards on Mandriva Linux 2008.1 i586 (kernel: 2.6.24.2-laptop-4mdv) by kozaki (-5):

Cirrus Logic|Crystal CS4281 PCI Audio
Supposed to work (e.g works for other guys with the same laptop), but i think mine has a hardware issue with this sound card :-(

1. aplay [sound_file]
   • PULSEAUDIO: Unable to connect: Connection refused

aplay: main:564: audio open error: Connexion refusée

1. alsaconf > says it configures the sound card
2. alsamixer
   • PULSEAUDIO: Unable to connect: Connection refused

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: Connection refused
