NOTE: the rt73 is NOT ndiswrapped! Please follow the following instructions, especially the part about linux-headers. These instructions are for newbies, so kernel gurus can ignore them unless they've got a Linksys WUSB54GC wireless USB adapter! ***If they contain hwreports do I only answer to flames from noobs, unless they are from XXs. Then HYD? :p*** you must make the rt73 driver and install it as follows: $ su password: xxxENTER YOUR USER PASSWORD HERExxx # cd PATH_TO_RT73_CREATED_ACCORDING_TO_README # make # make install # exit $ The rt73 source path is at /usr/src/modules So dropping the ralink-rt73.{tgz,tar.gz} in /usr/src is recommended by moving it from the default download directory (unless you use root before downloading source) to /usr/src If you su to root before downloading, then use /usr/src because it's convenient. Before compiling, you will need the headers for the kernel you are running because the rt73 source needs linux-headers: # aptitude install linux-headers-2.6.15-53 \ linux-headers-2.6.15-53-686 (Yes, you can remove the "\" and make the above line one line!)
