You need to make sure your kernel supports AHCI if you want to use the AHCI SATA BIOS config:

CONFIG_SATA_AHCI=y

(you’ll need a newer kernel).

And if you want to use the CPU scaling governors, you need to turn on Cool and Quiet in your BIOS CPU options.

Though I run gentoo, I also run up the Ubuntu Live CD and that also had no problems with anything. You can safely buy this board.
