It works perfectly fine until hibernation. When the computer resumes from hibernating, the sound no longer works until a cold restart.
with alsa install
This is Thinkpad Z61t.
To have sound working after hibernation, HIBERNATION_MODE must be changed. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80893
Output works fine, but i still didn’t manage to have a microphone working properly. Seems to be a problem with my gstreamer setup, not device drivers. Anyway, it has low priority for me, so I didn’t investigate the topic.
No problem. I use XmmS, Vlc, Amarok, Audacity
Since Fedora/F8
add to /etc/modules.d/alsa :
options snd-hda-intel model=thinkpad position_fix=0
On my Ubuntu box, the sound is correctly configured, but I still need a few modifications for making sound recording work.
I never got the mic to work. I don’t know why. I also had problems with earlier kernel versions – I would often have to reload the module before audio would work
